Bookmap forum

I trade U.S. equities and feed data into Bookmap via Dxfeed (I don't do trades on Bookmap, I use DAS trader for actual trading). 

I know that the iceberg detector does not work with Dxfeed, but with Global Plus I will get the large lot tracker, along with the orderbook imbalance and volume imbalance. 

Does anyone use those advanced features with U.S. equities? If so, what is your opinion of them? Are they accurate, and do you use them as indicators to make trading decisions? 

I'm trying to determine if it's worth upgrading to Global plus...

I haven't found the Global Plus tools helpful in equities.

The books for mid cap stocks are thin enough that you can spot unusual orders pretty clearly.

But like they say, "everything works and nothing works". You really have to try it out and see if the information adds anything to your own strategy/edge.

How do you guys find reading the US Equities market depth with Bookmap ? 
The problem I have had with a DOM approach is where there is gaps in the price (especially if trading the open). So the DOM is jumping around all over the price. I suppose that is where the standard Level 2 box comes in which other providers have. 

Just wondering, how bookmap addresses this and if you find it readable.

Bookmap visualizes L2, and you also get a histogram of L2 data, which both are very useful and make L2 easier to read. 

Just because you have gaps in L2 doesn't mean that data isn't valid - if you're looking at a low float or low volume stock, the L2 gaps in DOM signify a lack of liquidity, which results in jumpy and drastic price action. It's more dependent on what ticker you are trading.
