OrderFlow-Newbie Question

Post by investonline999 » Sat Oct 03, 2020 12:00 pm

Is there a way to tell the difference between limit sell orders and buy stop orders in the order book since both order types would be above the current BBO? Thanks.

Hi!
An order book contains only limit orders. The nature of a stop order makes it impossible to detect it before it is triggered. Exchanges usually provide no info in their data feed about stop orders at the current market. There are some ways to track stop orders. Please find info here (Stops & Native Icebergs Tracker, a component of MBO Bundle).
