Some traders prefer to have the ask and bid side by side, symmetrically separated but this is not a possible setting in bookmap for the moment, at best we can get a separate profile volume as on the first image attached .
While we would like to be able to adjust the volume profile as in figure 2, we do this by gluing two columns side by side but this poses problems of size and other issues (To set identical width of the columns can be difficult to adjust. Moreover, even when the two columns are identical, there is a problem with the size of the bars that are not always proportional. For example we can have 30 contracts traded at the ask and opposite 15 contracts traded at the bid and the bar of 15 contracts will be greater than the bar of 30 contracts ... which is not logical and which distorts the reading .....)
It should be possible to obtain the same result in a single column, by checking a box that could be called "split display symmetrical bar & numbers" for example...
