Charting Features & Improvements

Post by limitdown » Tue Nov 13, 2018 5:27 pm

Hi Bruce/Zack,

Was wondering if there was any scope to add additional charting (heatmap) features & improvements.
Some examples:

1. Some built-in indicators on the heatmap for non-coders:
- ATR
- Moving Averages
- Keltner Channels (High/Low channels)
- Volatility Bands (standard deviation)

2. Double click a drawn item to bring up the edit/style window
- Irrespective whether pen is in Edit mode or not (i.e even using crosshair)

3. Option for a customised Toolbar, for faster access to Tools (i.e drawing tools, bookmap settings)
- Example showing all tools, but users would have ability to only show drawing tools they wish
(so not to interfere with other controls i.e heatmap, imbalance meter etc)

- Another example: show Upper Cut off instead of Lower Cut-off slider

4. Price & Time Axis improvements
- Ability to reset vertical and horizontal axis with a double click
- Each axis reset remains independent of each other
- Vertical: by double clicking on price column, without changing zoom level (i.e x-axis)
- Horizontal: by clicking on time axis, without changing vertical price range (i.e y-axis)

Hope it all makes sense ;)

Hi, that's a nice list, thanks for the effort. We'll definitely address most of that. Some of the indicators you mentioned are easy to develop via the API so we'll make them as examples.

Yes I agree adding all these features would be of great benefit to many. Easier way to edit drawing tools would be very nice.

Also adding the Previous Close Line automatically would be of great benefit. Right now that is very time consuming for each market and equity. Thank you.

In addition, it would be beneficial when editing a drawing object, such as a horizontal line to be able to input the price at which you want the drawing. Some markets, such as the NQ, Price levels can get very compressed.
