Resumption Price of Halted Stock

Post by js13 » Fri Jan 17, 2025 12:52 am

I'm a TOS user. I know some folks who use the DAS Trader platform who have it integrated with TOS. DAS Trader has as an option for their users to show a resumption price of halted stocks and below is how they explain it out.

When a stock is halted on DAS Trader, the platform will display the "halt resumption price," which is the price at which the stock is expected to resume trading once the halt is lifted. The price is determined by analyzing the outstanding buy and sell orders placed during the halt, essentially finding the point where the volume of buy orders meets the volume of sell orders. Based on the calculations, an imbalance of shares is also shown, indicating the imbalance of shares to either the buy or sell side. While the displayed halt resumption price gives an indication of where the stock may open after the halt, it's not always exact and can fluctuate depending on new orders placed once trading resumes.

Getting a resumption price after a stock halt would be an amazing add on for the Bookmap tech folks to create for Bookmap users.

Thank you for this great idea! We will consider implementation if more traders vote for this feature.
