Activate Bookmap Offline

To support a fully secure solution, Bookmap Quant clients can use Bookmap Offline Activation. Bookmap is capable of operating without internet access. Users can configure a firewall to allow external access to their custom adapter only.

Steps for Offline Activation:

1. Launch Bookmap.
2. Close the internet connection warning. Click on "Click to insert license key."
3. Input your license key (paste with Ctrl+V). Hit "Activate".
4. Follow on-screen instructions:
   • Find "activation request.bin" in C:\Bookmap\Config folder.
   • Email it to support@bookmap.com with "Offline Activation" in the subject line.
5. Save the "activation response.bin" file from support in the same folder.
6. Restart Bookmap.

Bookmap Recorder

A primary application of Bookmap Quant is reviewing simulations and backtest outcomes. While trading session reviews occur less often, simulations might run thousands of times daily. To ensure Bookmap doesn't hinder the simulation process (typically faster than Bookmap's 30-50k events/second rate), the Bookmap Recorder utility, BookmapRecorder.jar, comes in handy.

It converts custom data into a format Bookmap can replay. Its processing speed is about 150-200k events/second, creating files of roughly 12 bytes per event. Users can incorporate this recorder into their simulation software, later utilizing Bookmap to playback selected files. In terms of data replay, Bookmap Recorder is as effective as the direct use of the L0 API.
