ABOUT BOOKMAP​

Who should use Bookmap?​

Bookmap is aimed for Pro and retail traders to help them improve their short-term decisions.

How is Bookmap different from other heatmaps?​

What makes Bookmap unique?​

  • View order book history in addition to current status.
  • No delays. Bookmap is event-driven and is updated every 30 milliseconds. Most other charts aggregate and therefore incur delays.
  • Ability to watch volume profile per the desired time frame.
  • One-click on a chart to trade live.

TECH SPECIFICATIONS​

Can I use Bookmap from more than one PC?​

You can run Bookmap on any PC that meets the hardware requirements. However, you cannot use Bookmap simultaneously on multiple PCs. NOTE: If you have a Global Plus Bookmap subscription you can have 2 Bookmap instances open at the same time on 2 different machines only if the one is on replay mode and the other one on live mode. If you have an active session on a certain PC, you will be able to terminate it once you log in to a second PC.

Is there Bookmap version available for Mac?​

Yes. You can find the Mac version in the User Portal or download it directly from here.

What is the difference between the production and beta releases?​

The beta release includes several features and enhancements that are not included in the production release. A beta release becomes a production release after a cycle of field usage once the next beta release is ready. Click here for more details about the additional features and enhancements of the current beta release.

ACCOUNT​

Is my personal information protected?​

Yes. Bookmap is not a client-server-based solution. The application runs locally on your PC and interacts with your trading platform to receive market data (or transmit orders with the trading add-on). We do not have any access to any of your personal account information or your trading activity. The only information we receive during license activation is your OS version and screen resolution. We keep this information to improve the Bookmap experience. No other information is passed.

Where can I find my license key?​

Log in to the User Portal. Your license key will be displayed.

How do I cancel my subscriptions?​

Based on what subscriptions you have, there are two places where you might need to go to cancel all of your subscriptions:

  1. Go to your account here and hit Cancel next to your active subscriptions.
  2. If you have subscribed to any Marketplace addons (e.g. Rithmic, MBO Bundle, etc.), you also need to go under your Marketplace account here: https://marketplace.bookmap.com/marketplace/my-account/subscriptions/ . Make sure to login if requested and then, just hit the Cancel button next to the addon you want to cancel. If you can't see the cancel button it probably means that you have already canceled the relevant subscription. Note that you just cancel the auto renewal of your subscriptions so you still have access to them until their expiration date.

CONNECTIVITY​

Can I connect to both stocks and futures feeds in parallel?​

Yes. Bookmap enables multiple concurrent connections.

Is there a limit to the number of symbols I can display at the same time?​

Yes. Subscription to Bookmap Digital allows connecting to only one instrument at a time. With Global you have 10 symbols and with Global+ you have 20 symbols. Compare Bookmap Packages here.

DATA​

Which source of market data does Bookmap provide?​

Bookmap connects to multiple trading platforms and market data vendors, such as Rithmic, NinjaTrader, CQG, Interactive Brokers TWS, Tradestation, Tradovate etc. You can find a complete list of supported data providers here.

Can I use Bookmap with my own proprietary data?​

Yes. Please send an email to support@bookmap.com and ask for the Bookmap Quant solution.

How many price levels does Bookmap display?​

Bookmap displays all available price levels as provided by the exchange, including full depth market data. When a price level goes out of the range transmitted by the exchange (e.g., CME transmits up to 10 levels of bid and 10 levels of ask), Bookmap keeps a record of the last transmitted level and updates it once that level returns to the transmitted range.

What is CTA and UTP?​

CTA (Consolidated Tape Association) and UTP (Unlisted Trading Privileges) are the 2 SIP (Securities Information Processors) feeds covering the US equities market. CTA covers the NYSE listed stocks and UTP covers the NASDAQ listed stock. SIP links the US markets by processing and consolidating all bid/ask quotes and trades from every trading venue into a single feed. So basically, with CTA and UTP you get the best bid and ask across all participating exchanges and the total volume traded on all participating exchanges.

Can Bookmap be used on paper trade and live accounts?​

Yes, it connects automatically to the active account.

How do I distinguish between pending buyers and sellers?​

Prices above the best ask are sellers, and those below the best bid are buyers.

How do I activate one-click trading from the chart?​

Click the padlock icon on the toolbar and then active one-click trading on the TCP Chart, DOM, or both. Watch this tutorial here.

ORDERS​

How do I handle orders with Bookmap?​

  • Placing a Market Order:

    • Left-click at/above the current ask for a long order.
    • Right-click at/below the current bid for a short order.

  • Placing a Limit Order:

    • Left-click on the desired price to place a Buy order.
    • Right-click on the desired price for a Sell order.

  • Canceling a Limit Order:

    • Middle-click on an order to cancel.
    • CTRL + Middle-click cancels all orders at that price.

  • Canceling ALL Orders:

    • Click the X icon above the chart.

      How do I view and monitor my orders?​

  • Orders appear as circles with progressing lines at their price level.

  • Executions show a triangle at the end of the line indicating your position's direction.

  • Magenta is for sell orders and cyan for buy orders.

  • To hide this presentation, click the padlock icon above the chart and deselect the relevant options.
