Cumulative Volume Delta is now an add-on​

Previously, the Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) was built into Bookmap as part of the Studies dialog. It is now available as a regular Bookmap add-on, allowing faster updates and easier management through the Add-ons Manager.

Cumulative Volume Delta Overview​

Cumulative Volume Delta (CVD) shows the cumulative difference between buying and selling aggressor volume over time. It helps traders understand whether the market is dominated by buyers or sellers.

Interpretation​

Traders use CVD to analyze the strength and direction of market pressure. A rising CVD indicates dominance of buy aggressors, suggesting bullish sentiment, while a falling CVD indicates dominance of sell aggressors, suggesting bearish sentiment.

Settings​

The following settings are available for Cumulative Volume Delta:

  • Symmetrical – Keeps the same amount of space above and below the zero line so that zero remains centered.
  • Include 0 – Ensures that the zero value is visible but does not enforce symmetry.
  • Compact – Adjusts the visible range dynamically based on the minimum and maximum values during the selected interval.
  • Add CVD indication – Allows adding multiple CVD indications per symbol using the “+” icon.
  • Minimum accountable volume size – Includes only trades equal to or greater than the specified size.
  • Maximum accountable volume size – Includes only trades equal to or smaller than the specified size.
  • Indicator range – Defines whether the calculation is based on the current chart range or the entire trading session.
  • Reference points – Lets users define reset times and frequencies. CVD starts accumulation from zero at these points. You can also reset manually using the Reset Now button.
  • Split buyers/sellers – Displays separate CVD indications for buyers and sellers.
  • Colours – Sets display colors for positive and negative values. The eyedropper icon allows selecting any color from the screen.

Installation​

Please note that the Cumulative Volume Delta indicator is compatible with Bookmap version 7.4.0 build 11 or later.
